    Bison Calf

This calf and mom were near the main road we travelled while going through the park. We heard that there are an estimated 3500 bison in Yellowstone Park.

We saw numerous people fishing the multiple rivers in Yellowstone.

This cute little guy was along the roadside basking in the morning sun.

  • Lower Yellowstone Falls

    Lower Yellowstone Falls

I took this with a timer shot of Jenny and myself. There were a lot of people to compete with to get this shot. I ended up taking a lot of photos of other couples and families in order to get this photograph.

  • Tower Falls

    Tower Falls

About 200 yards from this waterfall Jen and I enjoyed some delicious moose tracks ice-cream in the general store and gift shop.

  • Old Faithful

    Old Faithful

The beautiful geyser erupts every 70 to 80 minutes. The steam goes several hundred feet into the air.

  • Old Faithful Inn

    Old Faithful Inn

This beautiful structure was built about 110 years ago. The architect was 29 years old. All the materials used were local. We stayed one night at the inn and had a wonderful time exploring it and the Old Faithful Basin.

  • Lobby - Old Faithful Inn

    Lobby - Old Faithful Inn

The lobby is 79 feet high. This picture was taken from the second floor. Notice the wood used to make each floor. Jenny is sitting across the lobby on the second floor gazing at the fireplace.

  • Modified Grandfather Clock

    Modified Grandfather Clock

The clock of the fireplace was made in Colorado. I was fascinated by the simplicity and size of the structure.

  • Stairway

    Stairway

I really liked the way the architect used wood to make the stairway feel like one was in a forest.

  • Steam Heater in the Hallway

    Steam Heater in the Hallway

This heater reminded me of the heaters used in our school district while I was in grade school. I forgot to ask if they were still functional.

  • Ceiling View of the Lobby

    Ceiling View of the Lobby

With the fireplace on the right, you can begin to understand how high this lobby is. The stairway leads up to the two lofts where the orchestra and bands would play to entertain guests. Imagine packing the gear up all those steps and then not getting vertigo while playing for the guests!

This was the only bear we saw while in the park. They are very powerful and deceptively fast.
