The first weekend of May I was fortunate to join 9 other photographers in Bandon, Oregon, for a photo workshop. It was lead by Hudson Henry, a professional photographer that lives in Portland with his wife and two young children. This was the third workshop of Hudson's that I have attended in the last 15 months. We had participants from Oregon, California, and Texas. I was able to spend 4 days at the home of my friend and fellow photographer Sam Scott, a dentist from Coos Bay, Oregon. This was also the third workshop Sam and I have attended together. In addition to being an excellent photographer and dentist, Sam also is an expert with woodworking and has a wonderful family.

As a group we were extremely lucky that the first weekend in May is generally the time when the seals have their pups. We had unbelievable
access to the event this year. The seals appeared not to be intimidated or concerned by the multiple cameras being aimed at them!!! We were careful not to get to close and upset mom or her pup.
