This is the tabernacle on the church altar. It reminded me of the one we used to have at St. Dominics Church in Orland.

There were numerous windmills which appear to still function between Cedarville and Fort Bidwell. The top half of the photo represents a small portion of Upper Alkali Lake covered with snow. This windmill is about 1/4'th mile from the road.

Fort Bidwell is located about 30 miles north of Cedarville, CA. It lies at the northern tip of the Surprise Valley. This church was built in 1885 and still has services each Sunday.
