  1. Calistoga Photoworkshop December 2012

Castello di Amorosa

This winery supposedly cost the builder over 30 million dollars and it took about 5 years to build. • This was the only shot I had outside the castle. It was taken the first afternoon in-between rain storms. Jenny and I plan on going back to Calistoga in the spring. Hopefully the weather will be more cooperative!

  • This fresco was painted by an artist from South America. It was located in the chapel of the church in the castle. The artist made the artwork look hundreds of years old.

  • This is the great dining hall. I really liked the detail of the wall paintings, wood ceiling, chandeliers, and the tile floor.

  • This is another courtyard photo. Check out the rain falling from the roof both closest to me and on the other side of the yard. No picnicking today!

  • The wind cellars were massive. Check out the old bricks on the walls and ceiling. This was taken with natural or ambient light.

  • This was the largest room containing the barrels of wine. It had to be several hundred feet long. Again check out the brick work in the arches and ceiling.
